Sonoma State 2017 Applicant Statistics

Published

Hi there!

After reading over the topic discussions for SSU for the last 6 cohorts, I have finally been inspired to start a topic! I just just submitted my application for SSU's pre-licensure BSN program. On one hand I am happy it is out of my hands, on the other - it's going to be a loooong six weeks.

While I was preparing to apply, I spent a lot of time trying to see how I measured up against previous cohorts. I found the application statistics (e.g. GPA and TEAS score) that previous applicants had published to be extremely helpful and wanted to initiate something similar for future applicants. Since we will likely never know what we earned on the essays, we can figure our score out of 80.

This application cycle SSU awards points for the following:

Prereq GPA 25 points

Overall GPA 25 points

TEAS 15 points

Local area 15 points

Essays 20 points

So, what does our applicant pool look like?

What are your statistics and how many points did you score in each area?

Good luck and I am really hoping to meet some of you in the fall!!!!

Prereq GPA: 4.0 = 25 points

Overall GPA: 4.0 = 25 points

TEAS: 90.7 = 15 points

Local area: SRJC= 15 points

Essays: ???????????????

I applied with 80/80

I just submitted my application!

Overall GPA: 3.80 so 23.75 points/25

Prereq GPA: 3.867 so 24.167 points/25

Teas: 90.0 so 12 points/15

I am not from the area so I won't be getting those 15 points unfortunately.

As of now I have 59.917 points so I'm hoping I can get a 18 or 20 on my essays to put me around 79 points. Does anyone know what the point cut off was last year??

Good luck to everyone applying!

Overall GPA 3.63= 22.6875 pts

Prereq GPA 3.79= 23.6875 pts

TEAS 96.0= 15 pts

Local (SRJC)= 15 pts

Total pts=76.375/80

Discussing our stats just might make the time pass more easily... thanks! Good luck to everyone!

Just got back my admission letter and have been selected as an alternate. I'm wondering how many they choose and how many will be in line ? Anybody else there get provisional acceptance?

My stats as follows:

Overall GPA 3.55 = 22.2

Prereq GPA 3.75 = 23.4

TEAS 86.7 = 9

Local = 15

TOTAL = 69.6

I'm just kicking myself for not doing better on the TEAS :(

You are a superstar!

I think you can call the nursing department to find out how many are on the list and what number you are..I'm pretty sure I've read that somewhere.

I got in!! Anybody else??

I just received my acceptance email. Does anyone know what the class schedule is going to be like or the clinical schedule?

go to the student resource website (there should be a link in the admission letter) and download the welcome letter. IT has the schedule as well as a ton of other information

Thank you so much cdicoio. I found what I needed. I hope you get in.
