Have a 22 weeker with question of leaking membranes...None seen, negative fern times three, h/o gest DM, on insulin, who probably actually has adult onset that wasn't treated between pregnancies. Also some hypothroidism and oligohydraminos with an AFI of 1- will be having a level two Monday, and is so frightened and worried about losing the pregnancy. No high risk facility will take her until at least 24 weeks to be confirmed by the upcoming level 2 as the fetus isn't considered viable. She is going nuts like our friend Lou....Going to try to put something together for fun (in my spare time) such as purple nail polish and a basket...Any ideas? I did hang up her family pics on the wall.....
Hi all, pt made it to just over 23 weeks and then had some cramping. Her cx was thinning, and she had an AFI of1 so was shipped to the nearest acute facility. They were able to stop the cramping and at this post, she continues to be undelivered, and now just about 24 weeks. I promise to update as soon as I get any new details...Thanks so much...
Hi people. Here is an update. Was at a lecture earlier today and ran into this patients' OB, who told me she had signed out from the acute care facility and went home because she missed her family and was getting too depressed there. She is nearly 25 weeks, afebrile and hasn't gone into labor. So, when and if I hear the rest of the story, I will certainly pass it on....

Sending up several prayers for your patient and her baby!!
What an awesome thing you did for her!! Nurses like you are the reason I held onto my dream of being a nurse someday! I think one of "your kind" was in the LDR when my youngest was born - she was on the ball and so intuned!!!!!!
God bless you all! Give you patient a hug from me (and everyone else too).
