I am currently studying for the Hesi A2 entrance exam, and I need all the help I can get. I sit for the exam this upcoming week, so anyone who has taken the exam please feel free to leave advise, study information, study guides... literally anything will be useful. I am taking the exam at Prairie State College...a Chicagoland suburb so if anyone has any info on this particular school (or any school for that matter) I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks a bunch.
I attended the evening orientation. I re-calculated my total rank score is 126. You should re-check because if I'm not mistaking the highest you can get is 156; that's including 10 max points for the hesi and 10 points for in-district. I'm nervous too. You must have gotten all A's to get such a high score. Good Job! I hope we pulled it off. I would hate to have to wait another year to reapply but whatever God's Will, will be done. Good luck again! Let me know if you made it. Oh, yes, I have taken ALL prereq's and gen ed classes. What about you?
oh, I thought that we were supposed to calculate our hesi exam points along with the total points for the prereqs and gen ed course. I don't know???? Well, with that said, I only have 80 points just for the Gen ed and Prereq's... I have not taken A&PII or Micro yet. So, I added up my 80 points for the academic portion with my test score of 88 and came up with 168. I am just ready for everything to be over with. I'm mentally exhausted worrying about whether or not I am going to get accepted. All I can do now is pray, let go and let GOD work in my favor! I wish all the best for you :redpinkhe... hopefully we both will get accepted.

Tell me about it, this is my first time applying into the program, and I would be so discouraged and disappointed if I didn't get accepted. But like you said "God's Will" That is what I will have to remind myself if I don't get in, But I am speaking it into exsitence right now!!!!! And I will def. keep everyone posted on my status! Do you remember when the school will be mailing out the letters?
Yeah, the only points that can be added for the hesi are either the 5 or 10 points depending on your score. If you were really low you could even LOSE points . Ms.Dean said they should be mailed out by the end of April but no later than the first week in May. Don't worry. Just let it go. It's out of our hands. All we can do is wait. I am so tempted to call the school and ask if they know for sure EXACTLY when they plan to mail them out. Every day when I go home, I look for one of those "we missed you" stickers from the post man. So do the base most of the consideration primarily on the academic portion? When does the hesi exam come into play?
I think they base things just on the points alone. HESI just shows how well you can do plus gives u the extra points for the ranking points. It's 4/28 and still nothing in the mail. I was contemplating calling the school to see if they've sent any acceptance/denial letters out yet. I guess I'll be patient. Lol. How've you been?
LOL!!!!! I was thinking the SAME EXACT THING!!! I'm terrible when it comes to things like this!!! I'm holding on though ( I guess the best way that I can) I thought that the Hesi exam would play a larger role in the ranking process. I knew that I should have taken my last 2 science course, I would have had more points had I done so.
I could be wrong about the Hesi. You know they tell you one thing but probably sit around at a big round table and chose who they want anyway. LOL. I broke down and called to ask if the letters had been sent out but couldn't get a hold of anyone. Guess it wasn't meant for me to know right now. lol. but if I call back later, I'll let you know.
LOL, I just sent Ms. Horn an e-mail asking what was the lowest amount of points that got accepted into the program! She hasn't responded yet, but it was worth a try. I am sooo impatient. But I will keep you posted as well if she gets back to me
