"Ah yes, I remember that well."

In 1963 in the hospital program: Our uniforms had to be 17" from the floor. I'm only 5'2".

Our Aprons had the bib attached but it still buttoned at the shoulders with 2 pearl buttons held with cotter pins. If you were on the street or in class the apron was not worn, I lived wt hoe so I had to carry it on a hanger covered with that thin dry cleaner plastic bag. 5 days a week and the cap in it's own zipper bag.

In 1965 in the University program:Can you imagine in my moving about, it went from this to 1 piece dress, stockings 1/2 slip and any kind of white shoes except tennies. Still couldn't wear pants on campus. If you had to run to the library you might be able to sneak in wearing a raincoat and your pants rolled up.

Then I went back in 73 first day of orientation I wore pumps, tan stockings, skirt blouse, handbag and carried a notebook-

hmmmm. The instructor had on capri type pants, sleeveless blouse and slip on sandals. Some students had halter tops and short shorts and were barefoot. If my scanner worked I'd post a picture of my hair down to my gluteus, wire frames and hip hugging bell bottoms. Conservative.

So I have a question with those holidays was that in between the start of a new year or space spatial throughout the students years...especial the 10 days for the third year

Specializes in Oncology.

You can tell the school the guidebook was from was Canadian- extra half hour allowed for skating during that season. I like that a lot of the rules are designed to ensure night shift nurses are getting their rest. Too many people now expect to grit through night shift with no rest.

What is Theatre? My guess is the OR but Google didn't help. I

These are so awesome! My aunt graduated from her hospital nursing program in 1968. She has told me about the grooming inspections, and drawer inspections, and how strict they were. It is really cool to see all of these official rules.

I am very glad my school does not include required bedtimes, specified hours for radio use, or a prohibition about wearing slacks in public areas :)

Specializes in Going to Peds!.

I like that last commandment: Nor shalt thou be late for breakfast. I think I could've managed that!
