I'm not sure how it is in the rest of the country, but where I live nursing school spots are few and far between. I have been taking pre-reqs for a couple of years now and I just feel like I have to be soooo competitive for my grades and test scores. It has gotten to the point that I am having a hard time viewing my classmates as anything but "the competition." This is sooo not like me, as I am generally a very friendly person. :loveya:
I am to the point where I am just READY for the Spring '09 decisions to be made so I can relax! I know NS is tough, but do you still have that need to be super competitive, or do you band together to succeed as a group? It feels so solitary right now...is this just something I should get used to?
Feeling out of sorts in CA.
Yes it is still competitive when u get accepted! Me I'm not a competitive person in school! I wish everyone could do well, but there are some that dont care about others and its me, me, me!! I used to share my notes, send them out in emails, very few would say thank you, YET, i would see them studying from them. hmm so they can print them off, yet cant find the time to hit the reply button and say thanks!! I don't get upset about, they didnt ask for them in the first place! Then there was another time, people were complaining about all the reading,so I suggested we divy up the pages, and each person is responsible for makin gup questions from those pages! Nope, no one wanted to do that, they rather just complain and look out for them self! I have given up and only share with a few people now. Why not work as a team and make it easier on everyone?? More than enough RN jobs for everyone here.

Thanks everyone...I appreciate your responses. I have actually started to relax a little bit since we're in the applicatin period and what's done is basically done. Granted, I still try to get the highest grade in the class (total geek here)
, but I think from this point on I'll be doing it just for ME...which feels good actually!
And yes, I do plan to go to graduate school someday, so the good grades (that I hope continue!) will come in handy. I am just READY to be part of a team, and not so solo. With that said, I am crossing my fingers for my friends...I just hope I'm right there with them!
Thanks again...decisions start arriving mid November.
