So relieved It has now been a month, since I've taken the NCLEX ant- Passed the NCLEX

Took the test last month and at times, it still does not seem real, that I have actually passed.:lol2:

I am an internat. graduate and graduated Nursing school in 1987. I've decided to get my RN license here in the US and it took me over 2 years of hard work to be successful. Many roadblocks, lots of hard work and the support from my family and friends. But I did not give up and it paid off in the end.

The NCLEX was not was I've expected and I was so sure that I had failed.I was very nervous and felt that I was guessing more, than " knowing" the answer. No math, several Meds., lots of infection control. Computer

shut off @ 75 questions and I was sick to my stomach. This cannot be happening, I wanted more questions to prove that I could pass, but no, the computer shut off.!!!!

I was telling everybody, that I am sure that I had failed the test and that I might as well start to register to re-test. The longest 2 days in history, to wait for results!!!! When I went to the quick results on Sunday morning, I was so nervous and felt like throwing up before clicking the " next" button. But it said passed!!!!

A weight was lifted of my chest, I was so relieved. Unbelievable.

If I can do it at my age , after graduating Nursing school in '87, anybody can!!!! I did the Saunders review book, Nclex 4000 questions. I did 150 - 200 questions every day and studied every day for 4 weeks.

Good luck everybody. and thank you,:redbeathe for all the postings. It helped so much to read about people who are in the same situation.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Welcome and congrats on passing the exam
