I had an interview end of Nov. Had a second interview in Dec, and then a panel interview that took over 3 hours. I was told to follow up before Christmas. I followed up and was told I was still in the running, no decision made yet and to check back. I checked back and was told no decision yet check back. I emailed them again and the reply was " I have passed your info on to another floor, they will contact you if interested". Cant you just tell me you picked someone else? I just feel so strung along. Ugh. I am trying to be positive, I have another inteview Tues, and then another Jan 20, but I just cant stand all the HR stuff. I constantly feel like I need to chase after them.

i had the exact same thing happen to me 6 months ago when i applied to an er closer to my home. similar to you, i kept following up for two months because i continued to receive positive feedback rather then a rejection from hr. in the mean time, i have heard multiple stories of nurses i know with little to no er experience landing a position with that er. however, 6 months later i am not working at that er because i was never given an interview! therefore, i have accepted that i did not get the job even though i was not formally rejected.

don't waste your time with hospitals that do not seem to have their act together. an informal rejection can be a blessing!!! for instance, people who i know that work at that hospital have told me to re-apply because they know of my qualifications. however, i am not going to bother. i dislike living in my current area for many reasons. so, i am accepting the informal rejection as an opportunity to move away. i am applying to multiple positions out-of-state and i hope to land an er position in a big metropolitan area that pays better and has more opportunities for nursing career growth and training! good luck with your other interviews.
