I have set my sights on going iti Jeffersons prelicensure BSN program (Philadelphia) in fall of 2015. I have been working two jobs and going to school. I work as a cna and a waitress. The nurses come up to me and ask me if I've ever thought of becoming a nurse. It's my life's dream to become one. I have no back up plan.
I recently received my grades for the semester and I'm so upset to say I got a C in ethics. That's my 4th C on my transcript. I received them in ethics, English, general chemistry 1, and psychology.
I still have a&p 2, general chemistry 2, micro, abnormal psychology, statistics, college algebra, and one more ethics course to take before starting that program. I feel like I let myself down and will never become a nurse because of the 4 C's I received. I repeated a&p 1 once and I'm still waiting for that grade. I feel like I have no chance at becoming a nurse now. I'm really upset with myself

You still have a lot of classes to take, so don't give up. But since you've repeatedly done C work you may need to change some things to improve your grades.
You sound too busy to do well in your classes. Usually the nursing program prereqs are the classes they look at most closely. Can you take just one of them at a time so that you can focus and do better?
Choose a good professor from RateMyProfessor.com. Read the chapters before the lesson is presented in class. Do every extra credit assignment. If you don't understand a concept, look for a "Dummies" book at the public library or a youtube video that explains it better. Check in with your teacher and ask for clarification if you need help too.
Good luck.

I'm a retired (disabled) RN in Philly with a strong science background (equivalent of Master's in Chemistry). I'd be pleased to help you in any way I can, in any of your future courses, and also in helping you hone your study habits. I value any chance to put my education and almost 30 years' nursing experience to good use.

I think it would be great to post your questions so ddunnrn can post here and use their experience to help everyone!
Thank you! It's much appreciated. I just found out I received a B for a&p 1 which I'm very happy about. I do not start spring semester until January 22nd where I will be taking micro and a&p 2. It is difficult trying to balance working two jobs and going to school trying to make straight a's. I've never been an A student. Mostly B's and a few C's. I go to tutoring when I need help, I read ahead, and I study at least 3 hours a day. I've never taken an ethics course before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I did everything the professor told me to do. Even the extra credit. I do have one more ethics course to take so now I know what to expect.

Maybe you should only take one science at a time, it appears you're struggling to balance it all.

Right, don't try to chew too much at one time. Hang in there. It's totally worth it

Trust me I know how you feel I have 4 Cs on my transcript as well, in algebra, stat, pol sci & sociology. I am so mad at myself for it. Everyday I think about all the things I did wrong to cause those bad grades, but you still have a lot of classes to take. All hope isn't lost just make sure you don't get any more Cs. If you don't get straight into a BSN get your ADN and bridge. Good thing about nursing is there is more than 1 way to get there. Just learn from your mistakes and past grades and do better and let it make you a better student. That's what I am doing and I got all As this semester :) hang in there!
