Small private nursing schools in IL

Published

]Hi, I'm near Chicago in a west burb. C.O.D is close to me, but to hard to get into with all the students in this area. I was wondering if anyone knows of any small private nursing schools to get into. The city is O.K too as an option. I am interested in getting a BSN, but will get an LPN or RN to get there. I already have a plain AA degree and I have completed A&P I & II and taking stats and microbio this semester. A BSN would take just as long as an RN. Please no Americare or tech schools like that, a recognize school. If anyone has any ideas or tips I would appreciate it. Thank You!:heartbeat

There are many around. Here are a some that offer a BSN:

Trinity Christian college-Palos park

St. Xaviar -Chicago (close to mt greenwood)

University of st Francis ( Joliet)

There are many more just do a quick google search and you should find what u are looking for. Good luck!!

There's also Resurrection in Oak Park (Resurrection University)

Not at all sure whether this would meet your needs, but you might have a look at Graham School of Nursing--I think that's the right name--in Canton, IL, about 30 miles SW of Peoria. A 3-year diploma program. Have seen it referred to recently a little gem.

That school sounds really cool... unfortunately it's really far from Chicago..I think Peoria is like a 3 hour drive. Wish I lived closer!!

SMOKEY - Have you heard/read that Americare Institute has been approved to offer the RN program? Their office is in Schaumburg and I think their new campus (undergoing construction) is right on 59 and Higgins. You might want to check 'em out (www.americare.edu) just in case their RN program is something you might want to reconsider.

Goodluck,

Hanzo

Have you tried looking into the Illinois Board of Nursing website for a complete list of BSN programs?

Here's the link that also shows their pass rates.
