Don't know if this will help, but I heard that Mercy is having financial troubles (as is the rest of its Catholic Healthcare Hospitals). Not sure if it is Caritas, which just closed down Mary Immaculate and St. John's. It would be worth it to you to be investigating the financial health of Mercy prior to considering a position with them. As of last week, there are 2500 workers between St. John's and Mary Immaculate that are now jobless (according to http://www.ny1.com )
I don't know anyone that has worked for Sloan and that didn't love it. They treat their nurse well. My sister has interned theire & I have two friends who work there. Speak to somene that works there if at alll possible & you will see that it's way better than Mercy.
Good Luck with whichever you decide.
Are you asking about Memorial Sloan in the city or the one by Mercy? I know for a fact the one in the city treat ther nurses very well. Theypay and benefits are excellent. I work at New York Presbyterian Cornell right across the street from Memorial Sloan and hear only good things from there nurses.

To those that work at Sloan Kettering or Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre: Do you enjoy working there (is the environment supportive)? Are you happy with the pay/benefits as well? Please list the pros/cons, or pm me if you wish. I'm asking these questions because I'm interested in applying to work or intern at one of the hospitals (nursing student), and trying to figure out which one is best to work at in the long term. I read the long chain that was posted previously, but I'd like to hone in more on these 2 places.
