what do they do in this interview? are they like actually giving an exam or somthing? asking for basic knowledge/skillls?

goodluck on your application, jologated! so, how did it go? can you share the topics they ask you? TIA

Thanks, baldoRN. Actually, the technical interview was a bit easier than i expected. Days before, I was really anxious because I thought it would be so difficult and I was not sure if I would still be able to recall things learned in nursing school. But thank God, He was with me at that moment that's why the interview went fine. There were two interviewers who I think are both nurses there and they took turns in asking us questions. By the way, we were three applicants interviewed at the same time. It was like a forum. But if I am not mistaken, an earlier batch had seven applicants in one interview session and the other one had five I think. Anyway, there were like ten questions for each applicant, one for each nursing core competency. There were individual questions, different for each applicant and there were also questions that were asked to all three of us there. Here are some topics/questions that I can still recall... care for a suicidal patient... for a seizure patient... for a MRSA patient... patient on DNR status... discuss APGAR... color coding in garbage disposal... opinion on family planning... same-sex marriage... what is proper documentation... what is customer service... what will you do if the doctor ordered KCl IV bolus... your responsibilities to the other members of the healthcare team... a topic you would like to research on... will you give your contact number to a patient... will you accept food or money from the patient... discuss IVP... how will you prevent nosocomial infections... stuff like these. There were also follow-up questions if they were not satisfied with the answers you provided or if they want clarifications. The questions were relatively "answerable". Just try to do your homework days before. Brush through the basics and pray hard more importantly. Be confident in every answer you give (or at least pretend even if you are not so sure with your answers). If you really are clueless to a particular question asked to you and you are running out of wild guesses, then do not hesitate to say that you have no idea about it but make sure you can redeem yourself on the next questions. They want straight english and you must speak fluently as much as possible. Be on your best corporate attire, maintain good posture and always smile. It is first on their checklist I think. This post is quite long already. I just hope this could help you guys. Well in my case, I guess I just have to be patient in waiting for the next step and pray for it. I know I still have a long way to go.

thanks for the info...that's a big help in alleviating our anxieties.
