SJSU Fall 2014

Hi there! I started this topic since I couldn't find any threads for SJSU fall 2014 applicants. Care to share your GPA, TEAS scores, and impaction scores to get a better idea of the competition this season?

My stats are:

GPA (for 5 prerequisites): 3.95

TEAS: 90.7%

Impaction: 7.89

Wow! First of all, congratulations on doing so well on both the TEAS and your classes. You will be accepted without a doubt. Last semester's cutoff was around 7.2, or so I've heard. GPA: 3.75 TEAS: Will be taking it soon. If you don't mind, can you please share what method you used to study for your TEAS and how the experience was for you? Thank you!

Thanks! In terms of study methods, I bought the study manual off the ATI website and took the practice tests online. If you complete the book and take all the practice tests then you should be in good shape. I found the actual test to be harder than the practice tests (especially the math section), so just a word of caution. :)

GPA- no clue how they will average my classes, but my guess is 3.4

TEAS- 88% but I'm retaking it

impact about ~ 7.3 currently

Well it's more that I'm not sure if they will count my Stats Lab grade as part of the "Statistics" class. Also I've taken many English classes so I'm not sure which classes they'll count or average all of them?

Anyone know how long it takes for the school to record your WST score? I took the WST at a different school and had it sent to SJSU. But the score has not been posted on my.sjsu account yet. I'm freaking out since we are supposed to have it recorded before submitting the nursing application.

Are you an SJSU student?

If yes, then they will look at your Engl 1A class.

If no, then you may see if it is transferable through the articulation page.

Info.sjsu.edu

Find your school, and see what counts as Engl 1A or any other class.

I'm not a SJSU student, UC San Diego isn't on the articulation page :/ Retaking the Teas this Saturday--wish me luck!

I am as well! I am taking it at SJSU. I think you might have to do a Course Substitution Form, which can be found on the SJSU Nursing website.

However, just to be on the safe side, I would recommend that you call up the Office and ask them all the questions you have. The best person to speak to is ------------------, the Undergraduate Coordinator.

Can I ask how you have been studying? I've been using the ATI study book, and that's about it. I took the Practice Test online and it was HORRIFIC.

I got my TEAS.

3.76 GPA

82.7% TEAS

impaction score 7.35

But I will be retaking my TEAS.

UPDATE: got a 94% on the TEAS!!!! :D

GPA: (best guess) 3.4

TEAS: 94%

impaction score: 7.49
