SJSU FALL 2021 BSN

Published

Hey Guy! I am creating this for those applying to SJSU Fall 2021 nursing program. I wanted to see what the applicant pool looks like! Here's my stats so far:

Big 5 GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 80%

Impaction score: 6.66

I don't feel so confident due to how competitive it's been :/

Hello! You being provisionally accepted basically means that you were accepted into the program, you just have to finish everything required of you such as all castlebranch requirements, the Google doc that confirms you want to attend the program, attending the August orientation, and basically the whole checklist they gave you in that provisional acceptance email.

Oh thank you! By any chance do you know where very one is receiving their CPR card. I tried registering for classes but they are all online

Personally everything in my area was online as well, but there was one stipulation that worked for me. Online strictly meant powerpoint slides only, no one leading or teaching the class, therefore I was able to get a zoom course substitute and that worked for me. The card you receive from those courses that are lead by a professional via zoom are the same that you would receive in person and that worked for me on castlebranch.

If you have any more questions please join our nursing cohort on facebook! (https://www.facebook.com/groups/934736164029683) I would be more than happy to have you there and to answer any questions I can help with ?

Hey guys! For those of you who didn’t get into the fall program and are re-applying for Spring.. what classes are you taking in the fall? I was told to take SJSU studies area R and V and chem1A because my backup major is nutrition. I found classes for each of those areas but it adds up to only 11 Units. Any recommendations on another class I should be taking?

I am currently in this program. The impaction score/cut score for my cohort was lower than previous cohorts that had less applicants. So then, you aren't competing against other applicants, you're only competing against the cut score/impaction score. I had a 4.0 GPA and an 82% TEAS(6.73 cut score/impaction score) and I got in comfortably. I looked at impaction score for cohorts over a span of 3 years (6 cohorts) before I applied and not once was it ever above 6.6, meaning that if you have a 4.0 GPA you can score the lowest possible accepted score of a 78% on the TEAS and still make it into the program. I went into the TEAS knowing I just needed a 78% LOL. Hope this is informative for someone.
