SJR State Nursing Program - Fall 2016 :)

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey everyone!

I've really just been browsing, trying to find out as much info as possible on the SJR States nursing program. Palatka, or Orange Park. Does anyone know anything about the schedule? Or anything about it really. I'll be applying in May next year for the Fall 2016 program *hopefully* And it would be nice to have someone to chat with!

As of right now, I have no plans on working during school, although I am looking for a summer job to cover to cost of book, uniforms, etc.

I agree! The costs of the miscellaneous things are frightening! I will not be working and the thought scares me!!

Specializes in OB.

@RN2Bcheree, exactly! I know UNF requires the nursing students drop like $2K at their orientation, before FA comes in, which makes me think other nursing schools do the same.

That's insaneí ½í¸‹. I have drafted a list of everything that may be required. A friend of mine recently graduated this month, so I have been relying on her wealth of knowledge.

I'm with you guys! I don't plan to work during the nursing program but I am looking for summer work. I'm nervous too about upfront costs!

Happy Memorial Day to everyone! Tomorrow is the last day of the application period! Almost there!

Impatiently waiting! 😐 this will be the longest couple of weeks...

Impatiently waiting here too! Even though she said letters won't be going out until the 15th, I'm afraid I'll start obsessively stalking the mailbox the week prior. :wideyed:

I was told on or before the 15th, so I will be obsessively stalking the mailbox daily lol

Postal service will have a memo out about a bunch of girls stalking their workers in the coming weeks lol

Yes, I was also told she would send them on the 10th to be received by the 15th. I have a feeling that things will start happening really fast soon after acceptance/denial. There's background/drug check, physical, immunization, cpr/aed, and orientation requirements!! & This is only the beginning!!

In the event that category 2's are taken in, does anyone know the selection criteria?

I believe after all applications have been submitted they will all be ranked. I also believe the ranking is first based on Gpa then HESI scores. Anatomy and Physiology Gpa could be used as a determining factor and the submission date/time could also be used in the event of close scores. I could be wrong, however, this is a common format.
