SJR State Nursing Program - Fall 2016 :)

Hey everyone!

I've really just been browsing, trying to find out as much info as possible on the SJR States nursing program. Palatka, or Orange Park. Does anyone know anything about the schedule? Or anything about it really. I'll be applying in May next year for the Fall 2016 program *hopefully* And it would be nice to have someone to chat with!

I'll be applying too! Just waiting to take the HESI ... Supposedly there's a waiting list to try and test in May :/ ... Hopefully going to hear in I got a seat for testing today. If so and I pass the HESI with atleast an 80% in math and so on I should fall into the category 2 I believe only because I got a B in A&P ll :/ other than that and the unknown on HESI I would have been cat. 1. Praying it all works out and I get in! I wish you all the best!

I am also turning in my application this week as a cat 1. Which campus are y'all applying for, or do you have a preference?

I'll be applying to the Orange Park Campus I believe. I'm not entirely sure on how it all works ... As in do we just apply once and it accounts for both campuses? Or are they completely separate??

The application is set up to pick one of the campuses, or to be considered for both campuses; I would think that effectively doubles one's chances.

I'll be applying to both campuses to increase my chance of getting in, but Palatka is my preference.

DCampbell-you can apply to either Palatka or OP, or choose both. There are 36 seats at each campus. Same school, just separate campuses.

Awe okay well good to know! I would think so too ... Or atleast couldn't hurt :).. Well I'll def try for both ...I'm right down road from OP campus but I'll take either

DCampbell88- Where are you trying to/waiting to hear from about taking the HESI at?

From my understanding you can't take the hesi during the application period. I'll have to check on that so I can retake mine. My GPA puts me in a category 1 but I scored low on my math portion which put me in Category 3 :(

Yeah, it was my understanding that you can't use HESI scores that are obtained inside the application window. You could always call and double check.

Really? That's weird ... Just called about taking the HESI this month and she just said as long as I have my application in before 31st and never mentioned not being able to take HESI and applying ... I will def be calling tom. Since this would change everything for me :(

I just looked again and the application says criteria must be met by the last day of application period. Sounds like you are good! No worries! í ½í¸Š
