SJR State Nursing Program - Fall 2016 :)

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey everyone!

I've really just been browsing, trying to find out as much info as possible on the SJR States nursing program. Palatka, or Orange Park. Does anyone know anything about the schedule? Or anything about it really. I'll be applying in May next year for the Fall 2016 program *hopefully* And it would be nice to have someone to chat with!

Ok I spoke with my advisor this morning and this is what she said: Yes, the admission criteria has changed. Due to the change in the academic calendar, applicants now have until the LAST day of the application period (5/31/16) to complete all requirements, including the HESI. A student may retake the HESI during the application month and then submit their packet.

Now let's just hope I can get a test this month :/

Just turned mine in. Now a nice 5-6 week wait to hear back. I just love waiting and not knowing; it is awesome. ;) Best of luck to everyone!!!

I turned mine in this morning too. I wish everyone the best of luck!!

I was very excited to turn in my application on Wednesday. It was also a pleasure to meet someone from "allnurses"! Hopefully this is only the beginning of a long, rewarding journey!!!

It was a pleasure seeing you too! Is Palatka your preferred campus?

The countdown begins and prayers continue for all of us.

Yes, Palatka is my only choice. I was advised to apply to UNF as well, however, the drive and location of clinical sites do not work well with being a mom! The Palatka campus is much more convenient.

Same here - Palatka is really convenient for me. I thought about the UNF program too, but decided against it for the same reason with the kids.

I am actually the opposite, my kids, or rather my oldest is why I applied to other UF and UNF. My oldest will be in 10th grade in the fall, so for me, the idea of finishing my BSN before she heads off to college was enough for me to apply.

I know we are still within the application period, but today marks the third time that I have received mail from the school! !! For some reason I get butterflies in my tummy each time!! Torture :)

Haha that is torture! I promised myself I wouldn't count down...but I am.

What is everyone's plans as far as working or not working during school?

As of right now, I have no plans on working during school, although I am looking for a summer job to cover to cost of book, uniforms, etc.
