Simmons college?

Any one applying for Simmons for fall 09?

I will be applying for the direct entry program for adult care. I am curious to see if there is any one else applying there or attending the college.

I got a letter from Simmons yesterday - I'm in!! :)

I still have to finish the chem prereq and take developmental psych there in the summer, so I was accepted provisionally, but I'm so excited!!!

Anyone else hear?

Does anyone out there attend the Simmons program currently? If so, any advice you have would be great. Does anyone know more information about the RN internships? These are 24 hrs/week one semester and 36 hrs/week another semester and don't have credits with them. Are they paid? Also, does anybody know what the first fall semester schedule is like (in terms of actual time/days)? Thanks!!

The first fall semester is class all day 2x a week. It is a heavy workload as well as one 8 hr clinical a week. The clinicals associated with the NP portion of the program dont begin until the summer after you pass the NCLEX and that is if you are going full time for that portion of the program. The only thing you get paid for is the RN job you get after you pass the boards. Hope this helps!

Yes, biochem is offered in May and that is what I took to cover my orgo prereq.

Hey ysara,

I don't know if you're already in a chem class or not, but I found out that the one I'm taking covers both prereqs. Its the General, Organic and Biochemistry at Weber State. Its an online course, and it may be a bit pricey (just about $3000), but since it covers the two courses, maybe its worth it?

Hope that's helpful!!

Can anyone share more information about what the clinicals are like? I've hard at Simmons that clinicals are 2x per week generally. Don't know for sure if that is true or not. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
