Sierra College Fall 2016

Published

Hello everyone! Thought I'd start a thread for everyone who is also applying to Sierra College for Fall 2016. We can help each other stay updated with any news, I know it definitely helps me through this long waiting period! We can also share knowledge if anyone has any questions about the application process! Good luck to all :)))

What things have you guys heard from the Sierra College nursing program? Compared to the los rios nursing program, how is it difference?

Hi everyone! I dropped off my application for Sierra today around noon. I'm a little nervous about the process since there is no online application to check on, and there wasn't a sign in sheet to document that the application was turned in. Hopefully we all hear something soon! Good luck to all.

I believe we'll know by the end of the month if we're accepted at Sierra. Good luck!

Does anyone know if the program is just all based on grades? Gpa? I talked to a counselor at sierra a few days ago and she was saying that if you receive an 84% or higher on the chancellor of the predictor, you're automatically in the poll of applications and they take a look at your app. I guess the application has to be perfect...I'm not sure, but I wish you all luck! We're going to need it.

Both are correct. There is an equation they use to measure eligibility. If you get over 84%, then you technically qualify for their lottery, however, they basically go through each application by hand, and when they reach 40 qualified apps, they stop. So even if you make that 84%, they may never even look at your application.

I believe with sierra, the notifications will probably be sent out around the week of May 13.

I think that if you haven't heard by May 13th, you probably did not get in. Last year, a couple of my friends heard in the last week of April. Who knows? Might be tomorrow, might be the first week in May. In any case, good luck to everyone!

So looks like SCC and ARC have sent out their acceptance emails. Just checking if anyone has heard anything from Sierra- I know it's still technically early.

Nothing yet. Slowly getting nervous...

I haven't heard anything either...

Well I guess "No news, is good news" for now. Fingers crossed!

Has anyone heard for sure that Sierra sent out admittance e-mails? I would be curious to know how many qualified applicants they pull from for their class. I wonder if the "low" TEAS score (minimum score of 62%) results in more applicants?
