I graduated the 18th. I did really well. (One B the rest A’s). I had a 90% on the ATI comp predictor (99% chance of passing).
I was getting 65% on UWorld. I got my att yesterday and it was either take it at 8am today or wait 2-3 weeks and drive 90+ miles south (in the Midwest). In January. Both my husband and sister suggested I take it today because they knew I had been studying a lot and the longer I waited the worse the nerves would get.
Took it, got at least 10-15 SATA, glad I had a mask because I was swearing under my breath the whole time - I was so frustrated. The SATA were the EASY questions. The hard ones were the multiple choice. I literally have spent the entire time from when I picked up my kids today alternating napping and crying. I didn’t sleep well (nerves) and since we had a Winter storm watch, I left my house at 5am this morning. I was hopeful with the good pop up but then I saw something on here that said it’s all BS.
ATI, UWorld- I feel like nothing prepared me for how oddly specific yet at the same time utterly vague it all was.
I told my husband just now, it literally was like that nightmare where you don’t study and think you’ll wing the exam and it’s written in ancient Klingon. Only difference was I was studying and remediating but took it a week or two earlier than planned.
Of course since day after tomorrow is Friday and New Year’s Day I’m probably gonna have to wait til Monday for Pearson to tell me one way or another.
Obviously no one here can tell me one way or another but dannng this stinks.

There are two options when the computer stops at 75 questions: You did very well and the computer determined that you meet the minimum competency to be a nurse. The second option is that you did extremely poorly that the computer decided that no matter the number of questions, you would not pass. It is extremely unlikely that a well prepared graduate that graduated with a high GPA, would fail at 75 questions.
NCLEX is different than any other tests you have taken in your life. All of your previous tests have been standard tests that everyone in the class gets the same test. You are graded on the number of questions you got correct. You are conditioned to think: "I am answering questions wrong, I must be failing". NCLEX is a computer adaptive test. It is designed to get you to answer questions wrong. It keeps giving you progressively more difficult questions until you answer a question wrong. It then gives you easier questions until you answer a question correctly. It is trying to find the "sweet spot" of difficulty that you answer consistently correct.

Yep. Since the computer shut off at 75, (minimum) you either did so well that you met the passing standard with ease and then some, or you did so poorly that there's no question that you failed more horribly.
The NCLEX is adaptive. It will ask you more and more difficult questions until you get something wrong and then it will ask you easier and easier questions until you get something right. In short, you are expected to get wrong answers. It will find the limits of your knowledge and because of this, it can easily be the most difficult exam you'll ever likely take. Because of how we're conditioned to take (and evaluate) conventional tests, most people that take an adaptive exam will likely think they completely bombed the exam.
When I walked out of my test, I thought I'd failed... mine shut off at 75 also. Just know that you have completed the exam. If you didn't pass, you'll know soon and you'll get some info (generally) about what you need to work on. If you passed (which you probably did), you'll find out soon enough. Keep an eye on your state's licensing website. You'll probably find your name on it within a few days.
I paid $8 for my quick results! I passed!!
