SHSU Spring 2018

Published

Hiii, I saw there wasn't a page for this yet. SO I decided to start one. Anyone submit their app yet? I just got accepted to SHSU and applied to the Woodlands campus. :)

I'm not quite sure which courses I took, I would have to go check, but any of the ones that you listed should satisfy the requirement as long as it transfers over. Be sure to check Sam's course equivalency page to see which UH course matches with Sam's if you decide to finish up at UH!

And you can always speak with Ms. Brandy Colvin, she is always eager to help! :)

Ahh, ok thank you! I've been emailing the pre-nursing email... I'll look for Ms. Colvin.

What classes are you taking now, btw?

Hi all! I'm applying for the spring too! I took my TEAS this afternoon!

GPA: Not sure of but let's say it's around a 3.2(??)

Reading: 91.5%

Math: 90.6%

How was your TEAS? Did you do your pre-reqs at Sam?

Honestly, everyone says it's harder than the HESI. I agree, not because the questions are any different, but because the HESI has straight forward answers. As in there is only one answer. The TEAS gives you two answers that I personally would feel like is right, but there was a 'better' one. But honestly, I reaaalllyyy wouldn't freak out if your comfortable with the topics. All of the questions are things you should have seen in your classes, no doubt.

And nope. No SHSU credits, but I do have a prior degree. Graduated from UT last May with a major in Anthropology and a minor in chem

I actually took my TEAS a few months ago, and I didn't do as well as I thought I did... :/

Looking for tips, I'm retaking it in 2 weeks!

For A&P, i went through crash course videos and the biology corner videos as a refresher! That helped a lot!

Ahh, thanks! The TEAS book can be a little bland sometimes.

Are you applying anywhere else?

And are you applying for Huntsville or Woodlands?

I'm applying for The Woodlands! You?

I'm applying for The Woodlands! You?

I am too! Do you have any idea what the average amount of students they admit is?

Absolutely no idea!

I'm praying that I get in, but it's so hard not feeling discouraged! I wish I had prior certifications aka did the CNA program in high school or something í ½í¸ž
