Should Nurses Wear Back Support???

Published

With nurses and nurses aides being one of the highest risk groups for work place injuries specifically back trauma, should the wearing of lower back support be encouraged in addition to proper diet and exercise?

Would love to know how nurses really feel for a research paper!:nurse:

I swear by my back brace.

I have a bad back just from poor posture. When I don't wear a back brace at work, I walk home with an aching back. So that's enough evidence to show me it offers support

However, I use proper body mechanics and I never ever lift alone. I also do strength excercise and Stretches to protect my back.

I only use use my brace as a support, not as a lifting tool

Back supports actually weaken back muscles making you more apt to get a back injury, so no!
