Hi Everyone,
Just a curious thought. My goal is to be a nurse practitioner in the future, but I'm also applying to a direct-entry clinical nurse leader program. Since the program is not NP specific, should I talk about my goal of someday becoming an NP? From what I see on the program's website, the direct-entry CNL program prepares one for bedside nursing and management/coordinating of care.
Thanks!

Hmmm - I don't think I would mention my NP aspirations unless you are applying to an NP-specific program.
Since the CNL is geared for bedside and management, that's what you should focus on: why they should give the spot to you versus someone else. If you mention that you want to be an NP, they will figure why bother with the CNL?
TraumaRUs,
Thank you for your reply! I agree with you! Thanks!
Another curious thought, should I even apply for the direct entry cnl program? I'm applying to accelerated ban and direct entry fnp programs. I figured that if I got accepted and did the absn program I can always work a few years and then go back for fnp.
