I did exactly the same thing…I took the Kaplan and was suggested to wait the 3 weeks and study using the kaplan plan…but I felt ready and fresh from just graduating, so I figured I would give it a try and see what happened! If I didn't pass….that would tell me that I need to study more! Took it..got 75 questions…passed…..but everyone is different. I was scoring high 60 and 70's on my Kaplan stuff.

Hello,
I graduated from nursing school about 2 weeks ago and have just completed the week long Kaplan course. I was originally planning to take the NCLEX at the end of June but I now feel as though I want to take it sooner. My Kaplan scores have been ok 51% on the Diagnostic and around 52% on question trainer 1-4. I haven't taken many Q banks but the Kaplan program was built into my schooling. Kaplan created an individualized plan for me that included 4 week of vigorous study. However my readiness exam score was 64%, I feel as though I learned a lot at the course and I am afraid that I might loose what I learned if I wait to long. My though was to take the test a week from now and only study for a week. And I am feeling pumped and confident right now. Is this a good idea? What are down sides (I do not have job lined up yet)?
Thank you for you advise
