Should I retake Biology?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone! This is my first post so I hope I'm doing everything correctly. I just finished my first semester, and I'm not sure if I did well enough. Before the final, I was sitting at an 85. I'm not exactly sure how I did on the final, but I didn't feel great about it. If I ended up with a B or below should I just retake the course? Thank you in advance everyone!

You should be fine with a B. But check your schools policy on retaking courses. Some schools only allow 1 retake

Like the previous poster said, I would check the schools policy on retaking a course. Our school only allows you to "grade replace" or retake 3 courses for the whole degree. Once you are in nursing classes, you are only allowed to retake one nursing course. (It counts as one of your 3 too so if you retake 3 pre-reqs, you are out of luck if you need to retake a nursing course once you are in). If you end up with a B, I would take your B and move on. If your school allows you to retake as many classes as you want or something like that, then maybe retake it. Check school policy first!

Agree with earlier posts...it really depends on your final grade and the retake policy. If it's a B grade and you can only retake a few classes, it isn't really worth it to retake biology [with a decent grade] and quite possibly be out of luck if you need to retake a nursing class later on.

If you have a B leave it be ;)

IMO, C or lower grade in science prereqs, I think constitute retaking the class because you really want your GPA at a 3.0 or higher.

Thank you all so much! I will just make sure I get A's in my other science courses. :)
