Hello everyone:D
I'm 19 years old and at a community college working on my general ed. classes as of right now. I'm having a hard time deciding what I want to pursue in college and for a career. Since I was in middle school I have wanted to work in the medical field, but I couldn't find exactly where I belonged in it, so I switched to business classes and I knew after 3 weeks that it wasn't for me. I've been thinking about nursing these last few weeks. I want a job that isn't completely a daily routine, I like the idea of dealing with different things on different days. I am a very caring person and always try to take care of the people that are closet to me in every way that I can. I'm very hardworking and determined to reach my goals. My grandmother was a nurse until she retired and she seemed to love it, but losing patients could be harsh on her at times. I would appreciate any advice or help I could get with this idea.
Thanks!

Go for it!! I realized I wanted to go into nursing after taking an anatomy class. I am the same way when it comes to wanting to do something different everyday, nursing will definitley give you that. Start taking the pre-reqs and see if you like it :] Good luck!!

I agree with the previous poster - start taking pre-reqs. I think A & P will give you some good insight. Or maybe even take a CNA class? Or....volunteer at a hospital and see if you like the environment. Some hospitals will even let you shadow a nurse. The volunteering I did in high school did it for me. I loved the environment. Unfortuantely it has taken me 15 years (post high school) to figure out that this is what I really want to pursue...
You're young! You have nothing to lose by trying it out. Good luck whatever you decide.
