Hello community, I was wondering if I should be requesting higher pay when I apply for jobs because of my credentials. I am Licensed Practical Nurse with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Health Science. This is great considering that I have been practicing for years, I am IV certified, pharmacology certified and best of all.... I graduated from my MS program with Honor's. Does any of this, especially my Honor's status count towards higher pay? A fellow colleague told me that I should be paid higher than $23 per hour (the pay range where I work is $21-28/hour). What do you think? I would love to see what you all think?
Thank you!

Never hurts to ask. My union negotiated an extra few dollars for having an MSN at our hospital (I'm bedside). The honors part, not so much, just the degree.
Just a question, while you were getting the other degrees, why not finish getting your RN?

In a just world probably yes, but an employer can say that they're hiring you to be an LPN, not a...health scientist? (What does one do with a master's in Health Sciences??)

Depends on the job. Will any of those skills be useful in the role you are hired into? You need to be able to explain the added value of these skills.
