I interviewd 24 hours ago at a clinic. I actually had my first interview with HR last week, but my interview with the doc that I will be working with was 24 hours ago. I thought it went well with him, but you just don't know. After the interview he told me "I won't beat around the bush. You will know very soon if you got the job." I haven't heard yet.
I know it "has only been a day", but he needs someone to start this Tuesday, so I think things would be expedited and I should know by now.
Should I call HR to find out? If yes, what do I say? If no, when should I call, if ever?

They'll call as soon as they have an answer probly. I doubt they'd know one way or the other if they haven't called you yet. Patience!!! ~grins~ In some situations I'd think you could call to express how interested you are in the job, but since it's probly the Dr. giving the most input and you'd only be talking with HR... dunno that HR would relay your sentiment anyway...

Can you possibly drop a thank you for the interview card by the office?
Good luck and keeping fingers crossed too
Should I drop it in the mail or bring it by his office??
If I drop it in the mail, he won't get it in time - he will have already made his decision. Arrrgh. Isn't it tacky to drop off at the office, via hand delivery???

No, deliver is personally. It really speaks for yourself so it is worth a shot.
well, I tried getting his email from HR, but was told that hios acct hasn't been set up just yet. He's new to the company himself and hasn't officially started yet.
I hand delivered it. The receptionsist said she will see to it that he gets it. I still feel like it's tacky, that maybe I should have just mailed it, but hopefully he'll see it differently.

I think that you are possibly going to have to find out the hard way about the job. I believe that HR would probably know about who got the job. After all, doesn't the doc office contact HR on who they hired?
From my experience, HR is a pretty busy place. It might be best if you just wait and see. However, dropping off the card was a good thing. Although I do believe that he probably had already made his decision one way or the other.
Best of luck to you! I hope you get some good news on this.
Yea, I think that if I don't hear anything by tomorrow afternoon it's safe to say I didn't get the job.

Hi Raindrop - I can say that from when I was the employer, I really appreciated the ones who showed the interest that you do!! Good luck!!
Sorry about that if it's the case, raindrop. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Sometimes you can never tell. I do agree that you did the right thing either way by dropping off the card. This might bode well for future interviews with this company! :) Best of luck to you, and keep us posted!!
