All of my online applications were ignored. Several times I have been hired on the spot when I have gone in person. This is my experience. Many people say that a good way to get a job is to go to the places you are interested in, go to the floors you want to work on, and make a point to see the nurse manager. By talking to the nurse manager, you break the ice, and if she is impressed with you, she may help you get through the HR hoops. I always recommend going in person, if possible, with resume and hiring papers (social security card, DL or ID, CPR and other cert cards, copy of latest PPD, physical exam, etc) in hand ready to interview. You never know when you will be offered a job on the spot. Good luck. Hope you find a good position soon.
