I'm confused...is California currently experiencing a critical shortage of nurses or not? I read in another thread that there is a nurse overload in Cali I really hope this is not true because I have my heart set on moving to the LA area when I graduate next December. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: hospitals in california who offers direct hiring for foreign nurses
Im sure its hard for a foreign educated nurse like myself to find a job..so its better for us to passed the nclex...and most especially to have valid or proper documentation from DHS. I will be having interviews soon for RN new graduate programs at UCLA, USC and CEDARS.With less than a year of experience fromthe Philippines I know I have to start fresh inhere and that's a good thing because I wanted to start buiding a good foundation here in california. Imhoping that an equal opportunity will be given for us. Don't loose hope for foreign educated RN's..we'll soon find our place. Good luck to us. God bless
This was posted from another blog...sigh....too much competition for too little jobs plus imported nurses keeps the wages low and jobs scarce.
