Look at things like tolerance of pain with medication. Ambulation increases. Ability to maintain SpO2 while ambulating. It depends on the diagnosis you have used but look at things like that.
Maybe increases in oral fluid intake, food consumption. Tolerance of participation with ADL's.
Hope this is what you were looking for. We have to do short term goals also, but we use 2-3 day short term. For our long term goals we usually evaluate for meeting those goals by discharge.

hey everybody, we are now writing care plans for clinicals. on our care plans we have to come up with three nanda diagnosis with r/t and aeb, and then we have to come up with short term goals that we can evaluate at the end of the day when writing our interventions with rationales. i don't have any problem finding the long term goals, but i am having trouble with short term goals and the rationales to go with. any suggestions? thanks, robin
