Re: The low birth weight story. I tend to believe it is more socio economical than birth weight/prematurity. As we are aware, the majority of LBW children are born to the underprivledged and do not have the resources to do well in general.

Further documentation of what has been suspected for a long time. I wonder when education systems will start recognizing ALL of the factors that can hinder learning.

The researchers ruled out education and social factors because the children were in the same school and came from similar backgrounds. Low birth-weight, which results from premature delivery or slow growth in the womb, seemed to be the major factor.
