shoplifting charge just started nursing school.

Long story short, a month before my 21st birthday I accompanied a friend shopping at target, I didn't realize how much he was stealing at the time and just thought he was taking small items and he convinced me it wasn't a big deal. stupidly I added in a few makeup items and of course got caught and both charged with misdemeanor petty theft. not arrested, given a notice to appear in court. 

I currently am in FL and attending Galen in broward county. Problem is, I already submitted my background check before the charges were filed so it came back clean. My charges just went online and my first hearing is next month, with my lawyer going for a diversion program and expungement afterwards. I have a clean record and this is my first offense. 

I'm nervous and not sure what to do. I want to be honest, so should I disclose this to Galen now or wait till the case is finished next month and get it expunged? Just not sure what to do and if anyone's familiar with their policies that would be great help as I can't find anything in the student catalog or online about criminal records.
