Hello guys,

I am a pre nursing student, I am 21 years old. When I was like 13 in 2011, I was caught shoplifting. I am going to apply for nursing programs and I am worried about background checks and for the NCLEX. When I was caught I didn't' go to court or pay a fine. I just was fingerprinted, took my picture , and waited in the jail till my parents picked me up. Should i say "yes" for when they ask have you been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor? I want to know any other peoples experiences with any situations similar like this that are in nursing school and for taking the NCLEX? I dont have any documents or anything for the shoplifting situation.

I was arrested for stealing candy as a child and also picked up at the police station by my parents. I don't remember my age, but I guess I was old enough to go shoplifting by myself.

It's never come in in any background check or created any sort of problem. I think I'd honestly forgotten about it until I read this question right now.

I don't remember being fingerprinted or having my picture taken, but it was so long ago that I'm really not sure.
