Greetings,
I am finishing up my last semester of nursing school and I have always had "bad knees". I was in the army and I've had a couple of knee injuries and a lot of wear and tear. I also have fallen arches and wide feet now (thanks to my ruck-sac). My knees have been managable until now, I am currently doing my Capstone preceptorship and working a 12hr shift.
I desperately need some suggestions for some nursing shoes with good support because I'm getting to the point that the pain is killing me.
Any advise that can be provided will be helpful.
Thanks
Emmy

i used to suffer from plantar fasciitis as well as knee pain for several years.. after lots of trial and error, injections and orthotics i finally purchased a pair of nike shox.... i have been pain free for more than 2 years now.. i wear my shox all the time .. the true test was working a 12 hour shift at the hospital :)
my suggestion is to buy a pair and wear them around the house for a couple of days.. if they are going to work for you. you will know it soon. i suggest wearing them around the house because they can be a bit pricey and you will want to be able to return them if they dont work out.
i hope they work out for you.
Thanks! I will definitely look into them. :)

Hi! I have a completely flat foot. No arch whatsoever. I also have knee and feet pain by the end of shift. I tried several shoes. The Nike Shox did not alleviate my knee pain. Right now I am using a pair of Asics white volleyball shoes (we have to wear white). If you DON'T have to wear white at your facility, I highly recommend Asics Gel-Foundation or Asics GT-2160. They are specifically designed for those of us with low arches and over-pronation. Both of those also come in various widths. Check them out on Asics website. I have been wearing those two models for years at the gym, and my feet love them, my knees love them. Hope this helps!
