shoes for flat feet

Nurses Uniform/Gear

I have flat feet and weak ankles, and I'm looking for shoes that will last my 8-16 hour days (depending on the shift). I know crocs don't work for me, neither do Shox my feet are KILLING me at the end of 8 hour shift, they're fine for 2-4 hours but anything beyond that are out of the question.

I am looking for suggestions? Right now I wear Asics shoes to work but still cause some discomfort.

Have you tried superfeet?

Superfeet Premium Insoles

They (at least in my opinion) have nice and strong arches...are comfortable and have all but solved my back issues.

I've got the same problems you do. Dankso's feel like concrete torture chambers to me, so I've been living in the Asics 3020's I usually run in. They are the gel line, about $120/pair - the level designed for a mix of hard/soft surface running. They feel pretty stiff when you put them on but work decently well for standing for long periods of time. My ankles still hurt but my feet and calves feel o.k. at the end of the day. They're the best solution I've found so far.

What type of Asics are you in? Might go try on a pair of these guys and see how far they get you.

I have tried the gel kanyo's and the gel 3020 nd 3010, killed my feet and ankels.

i have flat feet. i work orthotics in my reeboks for years, but then hurt my back. the physical therapist i was working with suggested i try danskos. they're the only thing that i can wear these days -- anything else makes my back ache! whatever you wear, you want heavy duty arch supports, and danskos have stainless steel arch supports! they're expensive, so try some on in the store and once you know what size you need, try the outlet.

I tried on a pair of Danskos yesterday. HORRID! They were like standing on the hardest concrete on earth.
