Published

Just wanted to start a thread as this residency opened today for externals. Internals was on 11/12.

Good luck everyone!

Hi. I work at Sharp Chula, but put Memorial as my first choice for this cohort. My application name did change specifically to Memorial, cohort #, and unit but I haven't received any communication about possible interview. Sharp is notorious for being late so don't lose hope yet!

Well if youre internal thats a really good thing, I am rooting for you!! What unit do you have assigned?

I applied in the last cohort. I got an interview but my application name never changed, so don't be discouraged if it hasn't happened to you

I am also internal and my manager told me this too. It is because of budgeting at Grossmont. I tried to get my friend an interview but she said they are only looking at intervals.

Did internals already start interviewing? Any offers?

Nope. I actually was going to call because it's been almost a month and nothing. I can see a couple of weeks but a month? LOL

Wild. I guess its just a weird time of year as well, but yea, a month is a lot to hear nothing!

Hi all!

I work as an internal at Sharp Memorial. Units do vary with their interviews and I would say from experience they do welcome external applicants as well. From the past cohorts, I noticed that they have been hiring both internals and externals. Also with one of the acute care units, interviews are not until the end of January 2025 per management, so I'm thinking that they will send interview invites to RSVP 1-2 weeks prior!

I did my interview already. Was told I'd hear back on Jan 3. Got a email today asking for experience documentation to calculate pay rate.

Congrats! Wish you luck.  I just saw is for Grossmont.  I thought all new grads started at the same pay rate, unless you have a Masters degree. Thank you for letting us know.

With the most recent strike it was voted that pay is based on experience so I think that's why

No mine says the unit and hospital it doesn't say the cohort but just RN nurse residency. I am also applying for grossmont not memorial so it may be different. You have a lot of experience so I'm sure you'll get it. I talked to some ER managers and they said they really focus on the experience! They love the techs and EMTs. I actually have the questions they asked for grossmont & memorials ED new grad interview if you want it! I got it from some new nurses that were in the ED since I used to float to all the Sharps

Hi! I recently got an interview invite for Sharp Memorial ED! Would you be able to send the interview questions to me please? Super nervous because I haven't done an in-person interview. Thank you and good luck to you!

Niiiice! Great news and congrats. I don't have any insight on their interview process, I just wanted to ask you if you were an internal candidate?
