Sharp NICU New Grad

Published

Did anyone apply for the new grad training at Sharp Mary Birch? If so, did you get the email to complete the screening?

Specializes in PACU.

yep I precepted in the NICU.

I'm from just North of San Diego. I feel like there are only a few of us who applied to this position, as opposed to Sharp's original New Grad Residency positing earlier in the year. Fingers crossed that next week is the week they start contacting everyone. Good news or bad news, I'm just impatient and want to know already! :)

I emailed the recruiter today. She said the managers will be contacting candidates for interviews.

Thanks for the update!

Yes thank you for contacting them. This wait is always killer. Hopefully they have decided and will make calls tomorrow. Good luck to everyone!

Anybody know how many spaces there are or how many they're interviewing? It's been so long that I'm wondering if they have already chosen and interviewed, but it was only a small amount of people and maybe those people haven't been involved in the forum? I think this whole process is messing with my mind. I've called other places before and they've given me an answer of, "oh you'll hear next week" yadda yadda but I have known that most of the interviews had been done, so basically they're holding all their cards close until they've absolutely finalized everything, and then finally, finally send out rejections. Hmm I don't think I'm making sense anymore...

I totally understand what you're saying! I've been trying to stay positive, but I wouldn't be surprised if that is exactly what's going on :/

I'm sorry to be such a pooper :( I certainly hope I'm wrong!!

I am tempted to call, but don't want to annoy them. It is frustrating not knowing what is going on and trying to stay hopeful when I don't even think I will get the position anyway. Errr think I have lost hope :/

I know, I hate being a pest but it's so hard being in the dark! Don't lose hope, even if this position doesn't happen for any of us, maybe it just means there's a different one out there that is a better fit! Although..... It WOULD be nice to be employed already in my dream job :) haha

let's just hope that someone comments on here if/when they get an interview so we don't have to be anxiously waiting for nothing :nurse:

I'm not on this forum often but I just came across this thread. I interviewed for the training program last week and was offered a position. However, there were two different positions posted: a new grad nicu training program and a nicu training program for RN's that already have other experience. I had applied for the second since I already have RN work experience. Not sure if they only did interviews for that position or for both but I would assume all new hires from both groups would begin at the same time. Hopefully this is somewhat helpful (although it might also be discouraging). That first job is tough to get these days!
