Sharp New Grad Summer 2022

Published

Hi!

I'm starting this thread for anyone who applied to the Sharp New Grad Residency for Summer 2022. Good luck everyone!

I didn’t have any clinical questions! All behavioral. I feel like they were really looking for the right personalities to fit on the unit rather than skill set. Sharp really emphasizes culture so I think it’s important to answer your questions as someone who can benefit the team (communication, team work, leadership, etc.)

Thank you again! I appreciate your answers and tips!
??

Hey everyone! I had an interview last week with Sharp Grossmont and have just received an email for my references! Does anyone know the timeline from this point, based on your own experience?  For those that have received an offer, did you hear back fairly quickly once your references checked out?

Hoping I hear back soon?

Good luck everyone!

I had my interview yesterday for a med-surg unit and it was pretty quick! I was asked: why Sharp and why that unit, 5 year plan/goals, how I handled conflict with a supervisor or coworker, ways I deal with stress, patient safety concern that I resolved on my own, example of exceptional care that I've witnessed, how I have explained something to someone with low health literacy...all behavioral!

Has anyone who applied to SMB NICU received an update or application status change?

Not yet! Have you?

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update for those going to Sharp Grossmont in June. I received my offer letter yesterday, did all the task on workday (it will still say under consideration).  Also, I received additional paperwork from the recruiter to sign  (as job description, meal wavier etc.) on the same day. Good luck to those interviewing and see y'all at the hospital!

Hi! Do you mind sharing your timeline with Sharp Grossmont? Like interview, offer, references, etc. Just wanted to get an idea of when I should expect to hear from them ? thanks in advance!

Hi there! I had a virtual interview today with SMH  thru Microsoft team, but I just got a call that they’re not moving forward with my application. And “under consideration” status disappeared on workday. Talent acquisition specialist also told me that she would like to send my application to Sharp Chula Vista. (Is this out of courtesy for all applicants?) It is disappointing but I am still grateful that I had an opportunity for the interview. It was my first nursing interview ever.

Here are some questions I was asked, I hope it could help if you are preparing for the interview.

Why Sharp and this unit, 5 yr goal, conflict, when you received negative feedback, when you gave constructive feedback, discouraged moment. They were all behavioral questions.

Good luck everyone!

I got that call also today! Not moving forward at Memorial but referred to Chula Vista…I thought I was special ? but it’s still nice that they call regardless!
