Sharp New Grad RN Program Spring 2020

Updated:   Published

Hey just wanted to get a forum going for anyone who just applied to the Sharp new grad RN program last week. Good luck to everyone!

I'm an external applicant, recently commented that I put ICU then progressive. I applied on the 16th but it still says under consideration. Ugh the suspense kills!

Hi, I also applied to the L&D new grad program (2nd choice was a Med/Surg unit). I graduated in May & have worked as an RN for almost 3 months. For those that applied to L&D, did you already complete the MNNC course? I'm enrolled and will complete the course in Feb. I'm hoping that doesn't eliminate me since I won't be completely finished until a few weeks after the program starts. Wishing luck to everyone ?

Hi

was it mandatory to do MNNC course b4 applying? I applied for L&D but haven’t done this course .

External applicant, but I worked at Sharp prior to starting RN school. Status still says under consideration. No changes yet. Applied for ER and PCU at memorial

I called HR to let them know I passed NCLEX, she told me I have to wait 6 weeks to get an update on my application also asked if I had preceptorship training.

Did you not have your license when you applied a few weeks ago? Was the 6 weeks for all applications or just L&D? Thanks for the info!

@Sahel I believe it was required for the L&D residency but I may be wrong.

I received the email to self identify, but the link didn't work. Anyone else?

My friend who applied for the CV/MB/Memorial post says she got an email for self identifying. That means they have started to look at the applications! I think she applied to CV

well thats exciting if they're starting to look at applications! my status has not changed at all

I went to the Sharp Hiring Event today. I talked to HR and they haven't looked at applications yet!

Did you feel the event was helpful?

Yes very! I had a sit down informal interview with the new grad coordinator. She said she was glad new grads came to the event because she’s able to put faces to the resumes. Overall it was a great experience and she’s very sweet and welcoming.
