Members are discussing their applications to the Sharp New Grad RN Fall 2025 Cohort, sharing their unit choices such as oncology, rehab acute, PCU, and behavioral health units. Some are curious about the status of their applications, wondering if being "Under Consideration" is a good sign, while others are sharing experiences of friends being denied. Additionally, there is anticipation around interview offers and concerns about the competitive job market.
Hi! Here is Sharp New Grad RN Fall 2025 Cohort!
Jennifer O said:Hello, I applied to the fall cohort for the psych units. I have not heard back for an interview or anything but my app still says under consideration. I'm assuming since I haven't gotten an interview that means I didn't get picked. Anyone else have this going on?
Yes, my status is also still "under consideration,” but I already know I didn't get it because I reached out to the talent acquisition person.
M.Val123 said:I'm sorry to hear that. I was placed as an alternate for 5N and I work on the unit so, it is HIGHLY competitive. I'm feeling very discouraged but will keep applying. Best of luck to everyone
Yes, it's been very hard to get a nursing job. It feels like I've applied to every hospital from la, riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego county ☹️ what's weird though is that I received a rejection letter from the fall cohort but not the Summer cohort. I checked the portal and my application for the Summer cohort is still "under consideration.” Anyone else showing this as well?

I'm with you friend, I feel very discouraged. Rejection after rejection. I have only gotten 1 interview from Palomar hospitals cohort but still didn't get the job.
I wish it wasn't so hard to get a job as a new grad. We were told it would be so easy to get a job right after school but it is not. Honestly don't know what to do. Keep applying?
Nursingiswild said:This is so discouraging! I applied back in May to the Fall cohort. I received an email saying we wouldn't hear from the until the week of July 21st for the fall cohort. Those who got interviews, did you apply to the Summer cohort as well or are these interviews for the fall cohort? Also are you internal? Have your RN already? Just curious about the process of selection. It seems very random. Good luck on your interviews! It's tough out there!
I can relate to you on this. What are they looking for: internal vs external, BSN vs ADN, NCLEX taken and passed vs NCLEX with a test date scheduled, healthcare experience vs minimal/no healthcare experience, clinical rotations at SHARP vs no clinical rotation at SHARP, preceptorship vs no preceptorship. Just got to keep applying, but its hard getting denial after denial after denial as a new grad RN.

This makes me feel slightly better. I think they are still reaching out to people from the Summer applications. I have over 12 years of experience in the field I applied to.
They did say next week we should be hearing from them. And my application still says under consideration at least. I applied back in May when it opened.
