Hello ? has anyone gotten orientation information yet like what times and days starting the 20th? etc..

I just got hired in the ICU residency at my local hospital. I did preceptorship in med surg my last semester and only saw the ICU a few times during clinical. I had a lot of certifications that stood out though that my job during nursing schools provided me- like CPI (crisis prevention) psych experience and I knew a person on the unit. I think it's a mix of certifications and who you know really.

Anyone hear anything from the ICU unit?

Me and a friend had hard time getting into California residencies. But apparently it's way easier in other states. We applied to Arizona, Colorado, Virginia and got offers the next week. So it may be better to stay in Texas or look out of California. California is really devastating for new grad nurses, some people have waiting 8-12 months to get their first job or get into residency here.

Sad.. I emailed the nurse manager of labor and she said they are done with interviews. So ? yeah..

My labor delivery says closed. Does that mean I didn't get selected? Does anyone else say that so confused LOL

No ? I didn't reapply to the neuro/ms/oncology but apparently that floor is doing interviews. My labor still says in process and critical care in esco. The rest still say new for critical care in poway and imc, med surg in poway.

Which unit emailed for interview to your friend? I know Palomar system is weird some of mine still say new . It happened last application period where none of mine said in process. I believe they only push so many through I'm not sure ?

Trying to get into a California residency is definitely cooking me with a side of depression LOL dang considering going out of state
