Sharp New Grad Residency Program Spring/Summer 2018

Published

Just a place for everyone to share information related to the Sharp Healthcare new grad residency program.

You may be called soon! I had the same thing before a manager called me for an interview

I hope so, but it is not looking so great! I got the self identify email on 1/28. One of the positions I applied for the status changed from under consideration to under review by hiring department on 2/1, but as we are getting near the end of the week and other people in this group have gotten calls two weeks ago for interview I still find myself checking my emails hourly with no luck. I have seen previous groups where people from out of state have had similar problems getting an interview. I was hoping all my qualifications would help me at least get me somewhere, just feeling very defeated at this point.

I feel the same. I am also from out of state and have almost the exact qualifications you mentioned :(

Has your status changed? What program did you apply for? What state are you from? I have decided that if I do not get any emails or calls by the end of the week I will try to put a call out to the nurse recruiter for suggestions on maybe why my application wasnt chosen. I dont have any other ideas. This is also not the only hospital I applied for and still havent had any luck with even a call for interview. :( Good luck to you!

No, it still says under consideration! When I applied, it just had me select my top two choices and I chose MICU and Oncology/Telemetry at Grossmont. I live in Ohio. I know another girl from my program also applied to this residency and is having the same issue.

And thank you! I wish you luck!

I applied for the ED and then applied for the ICU residency as well. ED status has always been under consideration, the ICU is under review by hiring department, but I haven't heard anything at all. I am coming from New York...well trying to. But no luck in any of my applications yet. I am just curious how they are selecting candidates for interviews.

Anyone apply for Oncology/Telemetry at Grossmont? Not holding my breath on getting a call since I am applying from out of state, but just thought I'd ask!

I also applied to this unit as my second choice! I'm also from out of state, and I haven't heard anything yet....

Did any out of state applicants get called for an interview? And if anyone already has their RN in another state, have you already started transferring your license to CA?

I'm from out of state, applied both in Fall and recently, never got a call back. Grossmont ICUs both times.

I also applied both times but for Memorial med-surg and Grossmont onc/tele/PCU, and didn't receive any calls back. I did get the email from Memorial that they would notify me by March 3rd for an interview though.

Congrats m.lorieann! I haven't gotten the email (did Grossmont send one out yet? I didn't apply to Memorial), but I'm still hopeful!

No interview yet, still waiting! But I didn't get an email from Grossmont yet either, hopefully they will notify us soon!

Feeling the same way and have heard that out of state doesn't get looked at much, and also curious about the truth to this. I am starting to worry, as I only applied for my California licensure. California is expensive and I can't move without a job. If you find any input on this! Please post and let me know :)
