SHARP new grad Fall 2018

Published

Hi everyone!

The nurse residency program applications opened up today for all of Sharp campuses and don't close until next week. I just submitted my application right now. I'm an internal applicant and it's my second time applying so I'm hoping this is the last time I'll have to do this! :bored: Just wanted to open up the conversation for other applicants! This time around, I chose Memorial Acute Care and Chula Vista :)

Did anyone that interviewed with short stay hear back yet?

Update- interviewed for short stay August 8th about a week later on the 17th received a call for a second interview for two new units scheduled interview following week on 23rd with both units. Received reference check Monday. Currently waiting to here back I hope it's good news that I at least got into one unit.

What were the new units if you don't mind me asking.

Anyone have any updates on Sharp? Or are they pretty much done for this cycle?

Hello,

I had a question for the original poster or anyone else on here who is an internal applicant of Sharp. I currently work there right now and graduate in May and am wanting to apply to the fall round. If you are internal, were you notified that the application was up? Or did you just check many times around the time it opened?

Would love to hear more of that info!! Your insight would be nice! Thanks! :)

I used to work there as an HCP. My managers always made announcements during huddles about new grad programs and job openings before they went to the public. If you like the current unit you are ok you should ask the hiring managers!

I'm a float with SRN so I don't really have a home floor :( I just didn't know if we'd get a notification to our work email or if we would have to do the work in checking the job portal very often to look for new grad openings. If you don't mind me asking, how early in advance were the internal openings?

I was in the ER so the openings were alll the time since they have so many shifts. New grad openings were only a few times a year. I would ask you SRN to help you out. I'm sure they know someone who knows

Hi there!

Did anyone on this thread end up getting a new grad position at any of the Sharps and is currently in the new grad program? Would love to hear more details about their program and how things are going for you so far!

Thanks!
