Sharp and other hospitals around San Diego

Published

Hi there! I would like to know if anyone could help me answer some of the questions about hospitals and hiring around San Diego area. I am moving there next year and will be with 2 yrs experience, RN/BSN by then in Med/Surge. I saw that Sharp has a walk-in interview. I would like to know how tough is it to get hired there? Any suggestions for me better prepare and a chance getting hire there or other hospitals? Any inputs are greatly appreciate. Thank you!

A walk in interview? Sounds interesting could you tell me more?

Specializes in Near Future: ED, Future Future: ACNP!.

They always have 50 nursing jobs posted on their website for experienced nurses ( 1-2 yrs). I don't know anything about the "walk-in" interview. I'm just trying to get into their new grad program in the fall!

Good luck to you!

The walk-in interviews are for experienced nurses only. Not saying that a new grad couldn't try them if they are desperate...but more than likely they'll tell you to apply for the new grad residency when it's posted.

@Born_2BRN I am new to San Diego. Relocated for the hubs employment without obtaining a current position and have found it to be extremely difficult. It's been 5 weeks, I've applied for multiple jobs, NO call backs. It's looking like we are in the same boat and I am trying to figure out if 2 + years of acute care med-surg experience is really not considered experience to the SD facilities??? I've applied for Per Diem, PT, FT, etc. I'm open for any position to hopefully put my foot in the door. If you find any info would it be possible to PM me? I know its competitive out there, but I'm hoping that us newbies can stick together. A little solidarity among nurses never hurts.
