Share day already scheduled before interview?

I have an interview at a major hospital in my area on Tuesday. The interview is from 9-11 am and they have scheduled me for a share day with a nurse on the same day. I've been a nurse for 6 years but am switching from another sector of nursing, so forgive my ignorance in this regard, but I'm not sure if this is typical? Do they usually schedule you for a share day before the position has been offered/accepted?

Yes. In my last clinical job, the shadow/ share day was mandatory before any offer of employment was made.

I did not get a share day and that is not typical for where I live. But I would have appreciated it. It would have given me a preview before accepting the job.
