SFSU Fall 2012

Hi everyone!

Is anyone applying to San Francisco State's program for fall 2012? I haven't seen any threads on it... Just wondering since apps are due in a few weeks!

I just got an acceptance email for Spring 2013 as well. I came here right away! My stats: 92.7 TEAS, 3.86 overall GPA/4.0 prereq GPA, bilingual, and no volunteer or paid health care experience. The last criteria is why I suspect I got Spring acceptance but I also have no idea.

I am also most likely going to decline because I got into San Jose State and am still waiting on Sac and San Diego. I'm happy to give my spot to someone on the waiting list :redpinkhe

Aww :( I'm curious how many alternates they select. Does anyone know?

@seashelleyes CONGRATSSSSS on both SFSU and SJSU! I am so anxious for Sac and San diego! It seems like the Spring 2013 people are getting emails first. Do you live in the area? I wonder why we got chosen for Spring and not Fall.

@ Spiffyness, Thank you, I'll be fine:). I also applied to CSUEB, but don't think I'll go there even if they take me, too far, too east bay... SFSU was my favorite choice because I wanted to relocate to city before I graduate, but I guess I have to wait until I finish my ADN.

Your stats are great! I'm sure you'll get somewhere for Fall 2012 if you choose against SFSU.

@Spiffyness --Thank you! :) I live about two hours south of San Francisco (in Santa Cruz county) so not too far. I'm guessing the people who got in for Fall just have stronger applications? It's so competitive that I wouldn't be surprised!

@seashelleyes Well in the FAQ sheet they provided in the email, it says

"The School of Nursing typically accepts approximately 80 BSN students per academic year. Due to space constraints, we cannot accommodate all students in one semester. We therefore offer some students a space in the fall and some in the spring, while attempting to achieve an academically balanced entering class (i.e. not all of the top students are accepted in one specific semester.)"

So maybe it was random in order to create equal cohorts in terms of GPA, TEAS, etc.

Ah ok, well it does make sense that they would want equally strong groups in Fall & Spring. 40 students each is so few, though... budget cuts. :no: If I had been placed in the Fall cohort I would have definitely considered attending.

I probably would have considered it too, but only at this moment since it's the first school I heard back from lol!

If you go to CSUS would you commute? If I plan to attend CSUS or SDSU, I'd need a roomie!

Definitely not...I'm close enough to commute to San Jose, but Sacramento is too far. I'm going to send you a PM right now!
