Sex at School Increasing, Some Educators Say

Perhaps the most shocking thing about students having sex in a high school auditorium was that other students didn't find it very shocking at all.

Very interesting article.

I do know about one couple who had sex in a car in the parking lot at my son's high school - the reason I know is they got pregnant and needed advice.

I was in high school after the sexual revolution of the 60's and I can say that at my high school, this didn't go on. Kids had sex, but not at school.

One of the problems in my local school is the teachers are not out in the hallways and this causes lots of problems. There is a fear of the kids today - and that is sad. The kids have the power and they'll grab it.

I do find it a sad commentary on our girl's education regarding their self-worth . .. . . . that they would allow themselves to be used for bj's . . . . call it the "Monica Syndrome" . . . .

Our local paper just cited a study which found that TV programs showing sex has increased (doubled, I think it said) in the last few years. In addition, fewer of these programs have anything in the storyline exploring the consequences of sex (pregnancy, disease) or showing couples using birth control. It estimated that the average kid watches 3 hours a day, and cited prior studies showing that kids draw many of their social mores from TV. IMO if those religious/ political groups attempting to improve our morality as a nation were to target what the average kid sees on TV it would have at least as great an impact as any laws we pass or any other social movements we support.

I graduated in 01 and it was very common amongst jocks and cheerleaders expecially during "practice". How alarming.

:crying2: Sad, Sad, Sad....No other words to say :scrying:

Class of 95, happened ALL the time. Mostly at parties, but sometimes on school property. There were famous janitorial closets that nobody ever went into.

Of course, in my junior high, two TEACHERS were found having sex in the music room right after school. One was married, and not to her. Hello, role models!

There are many religious groups who are targeting tv, movies, music.

Things like that happen all the time, It does not shock me one little bit. It happened when I was in JR high and High school (graduated in '92)

I work part time in an up-scale dept store and we just caugh two 15 year olds having intercourse in the mens fitting room. And in the food court upstairs in my mall, kids make out all the time, I've seen some of them actually having sex right there in front of everyone. They don't even try to be discreet about it. We are constantly having to call security. Its really sick! I don't know what goes through these kids heads.

I graduated in 01 and while it did happen alot, it wasn't bragged about or "done in the open" The lower parking lot behnd the gym was the hot "parking" spot. Teachers and security staff really didn't do much unless they actually caught someone doing something. However, I think most kids had the sense to WAIT until after school hours, or go somewhere private.
