Seton Versant Residency Program

Published

Just wondering if anyone knew if Seton Hospital in Austin is still hiring, haven't heard anything from them and I know there were lots of applicants for limited positions.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner. I didn't have my interview until May, and I started the residency in June, so it was pretty late. It's good that it says "routed" now though.

Hi, RN4LOVE,

I haven't heard anything from seton. Residency program will begin on OCT 18,2010. I am so desperated now. Should I give up for this cohort? I need a job. I am also waiting from scott and white for interview call. I don't know what it is gonna happen with me. please help me. Tell me if you know any residency programs for RN position in hospitals.

I'm sorry, but I don't have any information on the positions that are left. I'd say wait for one more week, and just give up for this cohort. It's competitive. They told us on day one that they had over 1000 applications, and hired about 100 people, sooo it's tough.

hi,

RN4LOVE,

Thank you so much for your reply. I am thinking to forward my application for next cohort. Should I do it right now or after october program will begin? Do I have to call a nurse recruiter and forward my application? please help for this process. I am also thinking to attend an open house in Nov.2010. I will be an volunteer in any hospital in my town until Nov.2010.

Hi:)!! I had a few questions for RN4Love if possible! I have my first upcoming interview for the Versant Program and wondered if you could fill in some blanks if possible?

How shortly after your interview process did you make a commitment to the internship? I'm just thinking that if the program starts in Feb, that's 2 & 1/2 months away...what if (I'm sure it won't happen..but what if) something better came along in the meantime? How many interviews did you go to & over what amount of time? How long was your return commitment?

Thanks so much for the previous information...it really helps alot. I hate to ask so many questions, but like everyone else I'm just a tad on the anxious side! haha! Any other info regarding interview questions or tips would be more than appreciated! Thanks again and congrats to YOU for already making it!!

Hello! I am so sorry that I am just now responding, I hope it isn't too late.

So, how fast did I have to make a decision? Seton was my top choice, so I immediately accepted the position. However, I did have another job at another hospital, and they only gave me a week to decide. I imagine Seton would give you the same amount of time. From getting a job at two hospitals, I would just say to accept the one you get first (bc let's face it, it's not easy to get a job these days), and if a better one comes a long, just call them back and say you got another offer that fits better for you. You are allowed to do that. Even though I felt terrible about doing that, I asked a lot of people, and they said that the most important thing to do is look out for yourself and what truly works for you.

I don't mind answering questions! Let me know if you have any other ones.

Good Luck!

How is scheduling done in the versant program?
