Just wondering if anyone knew if Seton Hospital in Austin is still hiring, haven't heard anything from them and I know there were lots of applicants for limited positions.

Do you know when this internship program starts?

Sorry, forget the thing I said about the Peds thing ( i was thinking about Methodist SA hospital). The nurse recruiter said they weren't sending confirmations, and I believe she said they would only be notified if they were interested? Hope they speed this process up! I can't believe the internship starts at the end of July, doesnt that sound kind of late to you guys?

I wanted to the Peds, but it isnt being offered anymore! I am hoping now for the NICU, but I applied to all of them too! Ill keep you posted

BSN is always preferred. It is great professionally, and it is the way to move up. In interviews, they like if you are planning to move up educationally, like certifications and high levels of degrees.

Good job on passing the HESI! You just need to go into the test like you know what you are doing. HESI questions are always RANDOM to me, but just think logically and know your basic materials!

After waiting forever to take mine, I took mine last night as well and passed! I like that it only requires 70% pass rate, although a few of those questions were tricky.

Has anyone heard back from the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Residency program? The nurse recruiter is not very helpful when I try calling her and asking her about the program. She said there would be phone calls in "later April" but didn't offer much insight after that.

I had tried to apply earlier to some RN positions and got a message back that said I had to apply to only the GN positions. Do you know how many GNs they generally hire for each position?

Good luck you guys. The new nursing building is almost done being built, and there will be ribbon cutting ceremony in June!

To get into Seton Hospital system, you have to go through the Versant Residency Program if you haven't had 1 yr experience as an RN (they make no exceptions!). They said this year they had over 500 applicants for around 60 spots, so you can do the math. The other big hospital system is St. David's Hospital, and you have to apply to the GN position and hope to get placed. Hope this helps!

Yes, had an interview and still waiting! The manager made it pretty clear that they had a lot of applicants and they could afford to be selective. Hopefully will hear something soon.
