Apr 29, 201016 yr Just wondering if anyone knew if Seton Hospital in Austin is still hiring, haven't heard anything from them and I know there were lots of applicants for limited positions.
Apr 30, 201016 yr Hello txgal123! I am in the process of interviewing for one of the Seton Hospitals right now. There are definitely limited positions, which totally stinks, but I am thankful to have gotten a shot. This is my 2nd time applying for the Versant Residency. The first time for January, and I didn't get a call. I tried again for June, and somehow got this interview.
May 1, 201016 yr It was strange bc I was told that someone wanted to interview with me month ago and I told them I'm out of state and I needed some advanced notice and my email was never returned. I wasn't too sold on the Austin area so it's fine that it didn't work out.
May 6, 201016 yr It was strange bc I was told that someone wanted to interview with me month ago and I told them I'm out of state and I needed some advanced notice and my email was never returned. I wasn't too sold on the Austin area so it's fine that it didn't work out.I received the same "no response" but never told her I was out of state...though it was on my resume.
May 6, 201016 yr I wonder if out-of-state students are just harder to arrange an interview with (because you do have to know way in advance) and because of getting an RN license in Texas ordeal...I don't really know, these are just guesses. But, I also know that they have a lot of applicants, so it's not like they're scrounging for graduate nurses to hire. They can afford to be picky that way.
May 6, 201016 yr I have a WI. license which is a compact license that works in TX. I would assume that has something to do with it.I have been offered 2 interviews in TX; Dallas and Houston to fly in. They each gave me a week and half notice which was plenty of time. They were very nice about it, but I did not take the interviews for other personal reasons.I will say this.....almost all places I applied to made a point of calling me b/c; nursing is my second career and I had some medical background. One lady made a point of telling me that they were looking for mature people who had a sense of the world and that they did not want a new 22 year old grad.
Sep 16, 201015 yr hi, RN 4 LOVE, I submitted versant rn residency application for oct,2010, but I didn't hear anything from seton? I am so depressed. I am looking for a job, But I don't have any experience in U.S. I checked on my account. it showed " applied" will they give me call for interview? it has been over 2 weeks after I applied for this. please give me reply about this.
Sep 21, 201015 yr Hello BRP RN! Yes, they will call you. However, I would just say be patient. They called me very late, so don't give up hope yet! Oh, and if it hasn't been "routed" then it means your file isn't complete, I'd call Human Resources about that. Good Luck!
Sep 22, 201015 yr Hi, RN 4 LOVE, Thank you so much for your reply. I will wait for interview call. I checked my application status, but it is still showing " applied ". I have sent an email to seton for this problem. I hope they will reply me very soon. I passed texas juriprudence exam today, so I will get my permanent license soon. I am from illinois, but i am thinking to move to texas after I get job in texas. I have applied in scott and white hospital for rn residency ,too. My residency application is routed in scott and white hospital.
Sep 22, 201015 yr Hi, RN 4 LOVE, when did you application route for residency in seton?how long did you wait to get interview call from seton?I am worried about my application. please reply me as soon as possible.
Sep 23, 201015 yr Hi, RN 4 LOVE, My application status is " routed" . They also have considered 3 more positions for residency. Now I will wait for interview call. I don't know that how long I will have to wait for interview call. Please reply me.
Sep 26, 201015 yr If this helps, I applied at Scott & White and within 24 hours my status was "route" then I got a call the next day for an interview. I am not applying for internship positions, I have 4 years experience. However, my husband applied for a non-nursing internship and it took his a few days to change from "applied" to "route". It's been a few days and no call for him yet. What does "route" mean? That it's been sent to the hiring unit/manager?
Sep 26, 201015 yr Sorry I haven't responded sooner. I didn't have my interview until May, and I started the residency in June, so it was pretty late. It's good that it says "routed" now though.
